Job summary
The successful applicant will play a key role in providing support to the Cardiology department, undertaking various clinical audit and data projects. Their primary responsibility will be the submission, timeliness and accuracy of the National Heart Failure Audit (NICOR). The post holder will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams within the clinical divisions to meet local and national objectives whilst promoting clinical audit within the trust through training and awareness. The post holder will also use analysis techniques to identify opportunities and success stories, support clinical trials and research projects.
Main duties of the job
- Work with Divisions to ensure clinical audit work programmes are in place and completed
- Co-ordinate and lead on clinical audit projects to meet external requirements e.g. NICOR Heart Failure Audit
- Co-ordinate and lead on local audit projects to meet Trust priorities
- Work closely with Cardiology Data Manager to embed processes and completion of clinical audits within Cardiology
- Maintain records within the Cardiology databases and produce reports for various Divisonal Groups/Trust Committees (i.e. Clinic capacity and demand, Best practice reporting)
Undertake/facilitate various aspects of the audit process
