Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Pharmacy Procurement and Distribution team in managing stock holding. We are looking for a motivated individual who has experience of stock management or procurement. The post will cover the following areas:

  • Co-ordinating daily stock take
  • Investigating discrepancies
  • Monitoring short dated stock and identifying areas where it can be used
  • Provide support for stores and procurement Technicians
  • Facilitating changes in contracts and implementing plans
  • Ordering of pharmaceutical stock
  • Chasing outstanding orders with suppliers
  • Reviewing stock levels and escalating for appropriate corrective action

  • 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English - and NVQ2 in Pharmaceutical Services OR 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English - and NVQ2 or equivalent qualification(s) in an area relevant to the role and a willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Pharmaceutical Services Plus Standard keyboard skills and knowledge of software programmes including Microsoft Word and Excel

Desirable

  • CIPs level 2 or equivalent relevant qualification i.e. finance / admin.
  • NVQ3 Business administration or equivalent relevant qualification
  • Advanced keyboard skills and ability to produce and manipulate spread sheets
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures including processing orders and invoices, filing and answering the telephone

  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role

Desirable
