Duties involve the pre-treatment assessment and management of Head and Neck oncology patients and their post treatment rehabilitation. Management of complex multidisciplinary cases with the unit's Orthodontic Department, dental rehabilitation of trauma patients, implant based care for edentulous patients requiring specialist care and a treatment planning service for local General Dental Practitioners.

CONSULTANT IN RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Restorative Dentistry within the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the Royal Stoke University Hospital in North Staffordshire. This is a part-time post (6P/A's) as part of service expansion. The successful candidate will be required to:
- Provide Specialist Restorative Dentistry services as part of a multidisciplinary team for patients with Head and Neck Cancer.
- Work with the Orthodontic department to provide multidisciplinary care for patients with hypodontia.
- Work with the Maxillofacial department to provide multidisciplinary rehabilitation for patients with facial trauma.
- Provide a Restorative Dentistry advisory service for referred patients
- Participate in clinical audit and clinical governance.
- Provide advice regarding Restorative Dentistry services to the Trust management and service commissioners if requested.
- Contribute to continuing professional education locally, regionally and nationally
Applicants must have full registration with the GDC. The post requires that an accreditation programme in Restorative Dentistry must have been completed or candidates are within 6 months of completion of their CCST date.

Applicants will be expected to have a broad range of experience with highly developed skills in complex and specialist Restorative treatments, but will be encouraged to focus more on certain aspects of Restorative Dentistry, in particular the rehabilitation of patients within the regional Head and Neck Oncology service and hypodontia.
The successful candidate will be expected to have successfully completed training in a SAC approved training programme and be on the Specialist List in Restorative Dentistry, or within three months of completion at the interview date.
