Anticoagulation Support Worker Band 3
Please note this is not a Laboratory Position
Leighton Hospital (x1 WTE) / Macclesfield Hospital (x1 WTE) and Community Clinics across Cheshire
37.5 hours per week
Main duties of the job
The Anticoagulation Support Worker (ASW) role is to support the department and the Anticoagulation Practitioners (ACP), Anticoagulation Associate Practitioners (AAP).
Responsibilities include direct patient contact and taking finger prick blood samples using a coaguchek machine determining the patients International Normalisation Ratio (INR) result.
This is performed at community clinic's at venues across Mid and East Cheshire and Vale Royal, we also have Anticoagulation office bases at both Leighton and Macclesfield Hospitals, we also perform INR testing in patients homes.
Admin duties will be essential to the role.
A full clean driving license and regular use of your own vehicle
To be successful in this role you will require, good organisational and communication skills, Good data inputting skills and attention to detail is essential as a large portion of work involves typing patient information into the DAWN patient database.
The post will be based in 1.WTE at Leighton Hospital and 1.WTE at Macclesfield Hospital (please specify the location of you prefer base on application) but you will be expected to primarily cover community anticoagulation clinics across Cheshire. This is an interesting and important job, previous experience in this field is not essential as full training is given.
