Job summary

We are looking for a high performing individual to join the Medicine and Urgent Care Division as Head of Operations. The Division comprises General Medicine, Specialised Medicine and the Emergency & Acute Medicine Directorates delivering care across both Royal Stoke and County Hospital sites.

You will be a senior manager with significant experience at directorate manager or divisional level, with highly developed leadership skills who can lead successful teams and work collaboratively. You will a strong, proven background in operational management. You will be business focussed, sensitive to clinical and policy demands with the ability to cut through barriers to change with your ability to influence and inspire. Able to analyse data and apply a project management approach where needed, you will be confident of articulating business cases and presenting arguments for change.

Main duties of the job

A leader with a passion for improving patient care, you will work collaboratively with the directorate leadership teams, the divisional management team and other divisional and corporate stakeholders reporting up to Board level to ensure that the Medicine Division provides effective, safe and responsive services.

You will be future focused, working with teams to lead the delivery of the Division's operational and transformation plans to lead the delivery of excellent patient care. Key focus areas include:

  • Leading the delivery of effective, safe day to day operations
  • Senior support to ensure effective and safe patient flow within the system flow
  • Transformational leadership, establishing and sustaining new ways of delivering services
  • Project delivery, working on key strategic

You will work in partnership with your colleagues across all professional groups to progress bot the Medicine Division objectives as well as being an exemplar of the Trust values and behaviours.
