Job summary

Are you a Registered Nurse who enjoys a fast pace of nursing?

Elective Orthopaedic Ward could be right up your street. We specialise in day case elective orthopaedics and also major joint replacement surgery.

Training and education will be provided by the ward staff supported by the Trauma & Orthopaedics Practice Development Nurse who will be there to support you on your journey. All newly qualified nurses will be supported to complete the UHNM Preceptorship programme.

Main duties of the job

We are recruiting to our Elective Orthopaedic surgical ward. This is a 28 bedded unit which delivers a service to patients requiring orthopaedic surgery.

Nursing staff work alongside Consultants and Therapists to achieve excellence in care and to provide a positive patient experience. The post holder will experience a fast pace of nursing with a high turnover of patients for short day case orthopaedic surgery/procedures or caring for patients having major joint replacements who may be admitted for up to 5 days.
