Full time, Band 6 Senior Clinical Nurse - Neonatal Unit, based on Transitional Care Unit

An opportunity has risen for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to support the Senior Team on the Neonatal Unit. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and forward thinking approach to the workplace, and be pivotal in the development of the Transitional Care Unit and provision of a high quality service within this specific area of neonatal care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will need 3 years' experience of working in NICU, or equivalent within a Transitional Care Unit, and be capable of caring for all activities of care. Experience of leading a team desirable but not essential as development opportunities are available for the right candidate.

Demonstration of a proven commitment to professional development is necessary. Possession of relevant clinical skills training is required as the post holder is expected to participate in delivering direct patient care and demonstrate clinical excellence as a leader and role model.

The Royal Stoke University Hospital is a level 3 tertiary Unit. It provides 26 cots with the split being 6 ITU 6 HDU and 14 SC. We have also 10 cots in the transitional care area. We have the highest level of ITU patients with oscillation and nitric therapy. We too provide hypothermic treatment and have 2 cots available for this.
