Senior Biomedical Scientist - Haematology (Band 7)

Main duties of the job

This ISO 15189 accredited laboratory supports a wide range of clinical specialties. Responsibilities include staff training & supervision, equipment management, implementing service developments and overseeing the production and interpretation of results within the Haematology laboratory.

You must be HCPC registered with an MSc in Biomedical Sciences (or equivalent Haematology qualification) and substantial post registration experience in Haematology & Blood Transfusion. Evidence of ongoing specialist training is essential as is a practical, hands-on approach combined with in-depth specialty knowledge.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate knowledge of relevant accreditation standards plus a strategic awareness of current issues relating to Pathology, particularly those which affect Haematology. Excellent communication skills are essential for the role, as is experience in using a range of Pathology IT systems.
