Job summary
Are you looking for a new challenge? An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, proactive and committed Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist to cover a period of absence as a secondment for 9 months or until November 2026, on our Occupational Therapy Stroke Rehabilitation in-patient unit at Leamington Spa Hospital. The post is for 30.0 hours per week and will involve cover for Bank holidays.
You will manage a caseload and provide leadership and professional support for the caseload of clients within the specialty. The team provides an occupational therapy service to in-patients working closely with the acute stroke and community stroke teams.
You will be expected to develop and maintain a high quality Occupational Therapy service in line with Care Quality Standards and the COT professional standards, and meet recognised professional standards, therapy pathways and best practice to deliver the business objectives in line with Trusts policies and service protocols.
You will be assisting and deputising for the Principal OT in professional leadership, operational management, supervision and appraisals of all the staff within the specialty.
The service offers structured Personal Development Review (PDR) and Clinical Supervision systems, and actively promotes Continued Professional Development through in-service and other training.
Main duties of the job
To provide an effective service delivery and to be responsible for all Occupational Therapy staff within the speciality.
To manage an agreed caseload of patients and provide professional clinical support within the service speciality area.
To ensure the designated area of speciality implements and meets the recognised professional standards, the agreed therapy pathway and best practice.
