Job summary
This clinical Practice Educator role is mostly about enhancing the quality of care in care homes with nursing, for all learners particularly post-graduate staff. Role modelling, supervising, assessing competence, delivering onsite teaching, strengthening capabilities in areas such as wound care, end of life care, tracheostomy care and catheter care for example. Whilst empowering and staff to develop and plan their careers , equipping them with the knowledge and skills available to them we hope that this increase in quality care will increase placement capacity.
Main duties of the job
To work within and ensure continued development of an environment conducive to learning, integrating evidence-based theory & practice throughout South Warwickshire NHS Trust.
To work closely with team/department managers and professional leads in care homes with nursing within South Warwickshire to establish high quality learning environments, support and provide clinical leadership for all staff and learners as necessary.
To assist in the facilitation, delivery of Induction, training and continued evaluation for all newly qualified staff, pre-and post-Graduate learners within nursing homes/community settings.
To provide teaching and support to all staff who are supervising and assessing newly qualified staff and learners
To work as part of the Early career's development team, linking closely with the pre and post development teams.
To support staff in the development of competence and confidence in the delivery of high standards of care whilst being responsive to the needs of patients, relatives and carers as well as service demands.
