Job summary

SWFT is launching a local Trust-wide General Medicine Rotational Programme. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to join a highly motivated and passionate team that takes every opportunity to teach and support professional development to ensure the delivery of safe patient care. The appointee will work as part of a medical ward team led by a consultant with input from Resident Doctors, Medical Nurse Practitioners and Advance Clinical Practitioners and also be part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.

Appointees will have the opportunity to work in a variety of medical specialities within the Trust during a one-year term of the post. Opportunities will vary depending on the service needs, but an effort will be made to accommodate specific interests as much as possible.

Main duties of the job

This is primarily a ward-based position working a standard 43.45 hours per week with participation in the rolling weekend ward cover rota to facilitate the Trust's vision of 7-day care.

The principal elements of the post will be:

  • Supporting the inpatient and General Medicine services in the Emergency Division at Warwick Hospital as directed by the senior team.
  • To take responsibility for continuing professional education in accordance with guidelines set out by the appropriate college/faculty/professional body.
  • To ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.
  • To participate in clinical and other service activities with the objective of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
