Job summary

This is an exciting time to join our brand new Cardiology Catheter Suite at South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust . The base for this role will be on the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory as a Clinical Band 6 Sister.

The Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and recovery area is where you will be supported in developing your knowledge, skills and experience caring for patients needing Angiograms, Device implantation and Cardioversions.

Our progressive service has an established cardiac rehabilitation team, nurse facilitated cardioversion service, specialist nurses supporting the cardiac outreach service and supported by dedicated Cardiology Advanced Clinical Practitioners.

We are seeking motivated and dedicated individual to join our team to support the delivery of excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a clinically based competent practitioner who will take a supportive role in strengthening the nursing contribution to patients and service users within the speciality across the organisation.

The overall job purpose of the post holder is to provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing and multi-professional team within the cardiac catheter laboratory. This includes acting as a clinical leader and an expert practitioner within the cardiology department, liaising, guiding and advising the multidisciplinary team in the provision of optimum patient care.

The post holder will also be expected to play a proactive role in quality and service improvement and working closely with the Clinical Lead Nurse and multi-disciplinary team, assist in the auditing of clinical standards of care within their clinical area. This includes ensuring a good working environment in which all patients receive a high standard of clinical care.

The post holder will contribute to the on-going development of innovative practice, standards of care and strategies to ensure practice development and education for other professionals caring for patient within the speciality.
