Band 6 Clinical Sister / Charge Nurse - Cardiology
South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust are currently recruiting a full time Band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse, for CCU within Warwick Hospital.
Our Cardiology unit includes a 9 bedded CCU area, 20 bedded medical/cardiology ward and a diagnostic Cath lab. While predominately you will be on Malins Ward there may be occasions where you may be needed on CCU.
Malins Ward is a very dynamic working environment with some Multi-Disciplinary working. It is a 20 bedded ward. We care for a range of conditions including arrhythmias, Chest pain ACS, Heart failure with Telemetry support. Experience of caring for patients with cardiology conditions and being in charge of a medical ward is essential.
As a unit we strive to give an excellent learning experience to our nursing students and your assessor qualification will be essential. This is an opportunity to develop your skills within the field of cardiology in a supportive environment in areas such as cardiac outreach, cardioversion and Cardiac Rehab.
You will be a robust individual, enthusiastic with good communication skills and be a good team player. Be a positive leader and support to the whole team teaching our junior nurses.
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose:
To deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or medical treatment. The post holders will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, and implementation and evaluation of the programme of the care. The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of nursing care within South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust.
Work primarily in the Cardiology Ward / CCU and will develop cardiology skills and knowledge in order to work in partnership with the Ward Manager and departmental leadership team to support the delivery of consistently high quality and cost-effective service across the cardiology unit
The post holder will contribute to the on-going development of innovative practice, standards of care and strategies to ensure practice development and education.
