Job summary

We currently have a great opportunity for a People and Workforce Advisor (Band 5) to join our high performing operational HR team within a CQC Outstanding rated NHS Trust. You will support the provision of a high quality HR service to the clinical and non-clinical teams at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, working across the Trust sites.You will hold a CIPD qualification or have equivalent HR generalist experience in a similar role, with evidence of having excellent communication skills, and an ability to collate, analyse and report on workforce data. You will also have a proven ability to support the first level resolution of issues with regards to conduct, capability, dignity at work and grievance.

The team is based at Warwick Hospital, although we make full use of agile working and operate with a combination of home and office-based working. You will be required to travel around Warwickshire so access to your own transport would be helpful.

Main duties of the job

To provide HR professional support to our staff contributing to the provision of a high quality, compassionate and effective operational Human Resources Service to the Trust.

To provide support and assistance to the wider HR team in relation to well-being and engagement, sickness absence management and employee relations issues.

Job responsibilities

As part of the operational HR Team, provide support to our managers within the Trust on all HR issues ensuring that all advice supports Divisional and Trust objectives in accordance with legislation, NHS and Trust Terms and Conditions, Trust policies and procedures and HR best practice.

Ensure that all managers implement Human Resources Policies in a fair and inclusive manner.

To respond to HR first line queries with advice and guidance to managers and staff in the following areas:- Terms and Conditions of Employment Sickness Absence Special Leave Flexible Working Maternity Performance & Capability Dignity at Work Job evaluation

Provide HR support to the wider HR Team in Disciplinary, Grievance, Performance & Capability and Dignity at Work concerns; either informally and trying to resolve them at the lowest level possible in line with the Just Culture ethos or with formal investigations, hearings and appeals where necessary.

Provide support to managers in the management of short and long term sickness cases in conjunction with Occupational Health and in line with the Trusts Sickness Absence Management Policy.

To collate, analyse and report on Trust sickness absence data within the Trust for the wider HR team.

To participate in Agenda for Change job matching and job evaluation panels as required.

Provide support on the implementation of organisational change and organisational development initiatives as appropriate.

To be involved in drafting and updating Human Resources policies and procedures, as required.

In conjunction with other members of the HR team, to develop and deliver training sessions for staff and managers in relation to updates in HR policies/procedures as required.

To participate in initiatives which promote staff engagement and health and wellbeing within the Trust.
