Job summary

This new post has become available due increasing referrals and a change in working hours. It is Fixed Term for 12 months with a plan to review the need for a permanent post. The successful applicant will join a team of 6 Consultant Dermatologists based at Warwick Hospital.

This is an especially exciting time to join the team as in Spring/Summer 2024 we will be relocating to newly refurbished premises in the centre of Warwick. This will be a unit purely dedicated to the Dermatology department housing consultants, nurses and the secretarial team.

Main duties of the job

We provide a comprehensive General Dermatology and Skin Cancer Service to the patients of South Warwickshire. The majority of the Outpatient Clinics take place at Warwick Hospital (which will relocate to the new premises), with some clinics being at Stratford Hospital. We also provide Inpatient Dermatology Services at Warwick Hospital, and take referrals from patients under other teams who have skin problems.

Skin surgery is provided at Stratford Hospital and in the Dermatology Jephson Unit. Dr B Gee provides an Advanced Skin Surgery Service. Several Nurse Led Biopsy Lists operate each week at Warwick and Stratford Hospitals.

The hospital is undergoing widespread transformation with new facilities being built, including new theatres, elective hub, pharmacy and shop.

Surrounded by a collection of picturesque towns and villages, there is always a lot to see and do across the County. Numerous sport and leisure venues, theatres, parks and great shopping facilities make Warwickshire an idyllic place to work and live.

As well as enjoying where you work, we want all of our staff to lead happy and healthy lives. That's why we offer a number of benefits to support this, such as flexible working opportunities, and onsite subsidized restaurant at our hospitals in Warwick and Leamington Spa as well as a number of recognition awards.
