Job summary
Applications are invited for the above post within South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust. This post is based at Warwick Hospital and Stratford Hospital and is based on 10 sessions (8.0 DCC 1.00 Admin and 1.0 SPA).
The Medical team currently consists of 7 Consultant Ophthalmologists and 2 Speciality Trust Ophthalmologists.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to work in the Consultant team within the Machen Eye Department. The post holder will be supported by the specialist ophthalmic nurses and extended scope practitioners within the ophthalmology service.
This is a new post to the team of Ophthalmologists to provide medical retina, glaucoma and general ophthalmology services at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT).
The post holder will be expected to work with the existing team of professional colleagues and managers in the efficient running and development of the ophthalmology services.

- Take part in the revalidation and annual appraisal processes.
- Take an active role in audit, research, teaching and governance.
- Provide professional supervision, direction and training for junior medical staff/ the wider supporting team.
- To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of patients to be able to contact you when necessary
