We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, professional and experienced team here at the Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU) - a Level One brain injury unit located within the Leamington Spa Rehabilitation Hospital.
You will have experience in neuro-rehabilitation and be motivated to develop your skills and knowledge in this specialist environment.
There are also opportunities for you to rotate into other neurological rehabilitation areas such as inpatient stroke rehabilitation and community stroke services across Warwickshire.
We provide rehabilitation for patients with a brain injury where team work is essential and is underpinned by our Trust values to ensure that an effective, caring, safe, inclusive and compassionate service is provided for patients who have brain injuries.
Main duties of the job
To provide an effective service delivery and to be responsible for junior Occupational Therapy staff within the speciality.
To manage an agreed caseload of patients within the service speciality area.
To assist senior staff in the designated area of speciality to implement and meet the recognised professional standards, the agreed therapy pathway and best practice.
Our CERU Occupational Therapy team includes registered professionals, non-registered support workers and practitioners all working closely with the wider MDT.
This role includes key working and team link responsibilities. You should have experience in the application of assessment tools and intervention techniques relevant to this area of practice.
The successful applicant will be part of a team which thrives on developing and maintaining a high quality Occupational Therapy service. Your knowledge and experience will contribute to Clinical Audits and service reviews that demonstrate standards expected from the Care Quality Commission, COT and HCPC professional standards.
There will be opportunities for you to develop and engage in professional leadership and operational managerial activities, supervision and appraisals of support workers and junior OT colleagues within the specialty.
