We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and established leader in our Emergency Department at South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust.

The band 7 role will ensure the delivery of high quality patient care whilst ensuring the cost-effective use of resources. Our senior nurses will ensure effective management and leadership is provided for the nursing team and support the personal and professional development of their junior colleagues. This role combines clinical expertise, leadership and management.

The post holder will receive support and guidance from the Head of Nursing for the Emergency Department and the Clinical Nurse Lead.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Sister / Charge nurse within the Emergency Department will support and lead staff to ensure high quality care is delivered to those attending the department. The role carries the continuing responsibility for the management of the department, as delegated by the Clinical Lead Nurse, together with the provision of a twenty-four-hour expert emergency nurse service.

The post holder will establish, develop, maintain, monitor and facilitate the delivery of services at departmental level, ensuring services provided meet organisational objectives, divisional service strategies and quality accounts.

They will be aware of the Care Quality Commission standards and support the multi- disciplinary team ensuring that they are maintained. The post holder also has clinical, teaching, managerial, and staff development responsibilities.
