Job summary
The Ophthalmology Department at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit Band 5 Ophthalmology Nurse.
This is a part time (28.5 hours per week) Band 5 Training post with progression to Band 6-7 Specialist Nurse Practitioner role on completion of competencies. The post involves working as part of a multi-professional team and the successful applicant would be required to work in both Warwick and Stratford Hospital Eye Units.
The successful applicant will work in the medical retinal, oculoplastic and general ophthalmic service and receive full training, support and mentoring to achieve competency. Main duties shift lead, assisting in visual acuity, instilling eye drops, cannulation for flureoscein angiography patients, scrub for intravitreal injection and cyst clinics.
Main duties of the job
To deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or medical treatment.
The post holders will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, and implementation and evaluation of the programme of the care.
The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of nursing care within South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.
