Job summary
The role of the HART Scheduler is a key role in the link between the Managers and the staff to ensure a safe and effective service is delivered whilst ensuring compliance with the HART National Standards, particularly around maintenance of minimum staffing requirements.
To provide rota management across both HART units working closely with the Resourcing Operations Centre (ROC) to ensure HART are following latest policy and best practice.
To provide administrative support to the HART Business Manager as required at a team level.
Main duties of the job
- Prepare and administer the operational rotas for the Hazardous Area Response Teams.
- Assist and support rota and staff allocation for Operations or pre-planned events.
- Regularly distribute rotas to HART Team Leaders and Operations Manager - HART for review.
- Ensure that accurate statistical records are maintained on annual leave, sickness and all other staff absences.
- Action annual leave requests and authorise through the relevant rostering system within the required timescales and escalate those that are above the agreed leave parameter to the relevant HART Team Leader and Operations Manager - HART.
- Book overtime under the direction of the Operations Manager - HART and maintain relevant records on the system ensuring any relevant inter-department charges are submitted.
- Conduct monthly reviews from the rostering system on annual leave taken for review throughout the year.
- Monitor and escalate to the HART Team Leaders and Operations Manager - HART rolling relief balances developing action plans to recover the position to a zero balance where required.
Work with HART staff to implement flexible working rotas when approved.
- Supply administrative support to the relevant managers as detailed above.
- Provide support with writing letters, emails, production of documents.
