Job summary
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Emergency Operations Centres, the Emergency Operations Centres (EOC) - Duty Officer role is a highly visible and accountable position within the Trust and is key part ensuring effective day to day delivery within the Emergency Operations Centres.
The EOC Duty Officer will be the "Duty Officer" when on shift and will have responsibility for day to day delivery and operations within their respective Emergency Operations Centre, ensuring high quality, efficiency and performance at all times. They will have an important on day reporting line to the Trust Incident Manager, providing assurance regards all aspects of day to day operational delivery and performance. The EOC Duty Officer teams are an essential link between the Emergency Operations Centres and wider Operations, ensuring that high quality care is delivered in line with the strategic objectives of the Trust.

Main duties of the job
The EOC Duty Officer will have responsibility for a nominated staff group across both the EMD and Dispatch functions and has a key accountable role to plan, resource and deliver performance within the Emergency Operations Centres in line with expectations. The EOC Duty Officer will directly manage staff in the supervisory roles of Dispatch Team Leader and EMD Team Leader. This will also include broader staff management at an appropriate level across the EMD and Dispatch groups, including responsibility for all aspects of KPI compliance, performance management and wellbeing support.
The EOC Duty Officer will also be expected to look ahead to the coming days to ensure continued sufficient resourcing, working to resolve any shortfalls with ROC and escalating any concerns to the Deputy Head of Emergency Operations Centres
The EOC Duty Officer will be expected to maintain a detailed overview of all aspects of operational delivery across the Clinical Hub and frontline operations, including oversight and responsibility for the call handling and dispatch functions.
The EOC Duty Officer will provide effective management and leadership to the Emergency Operations Centres function 24/7 to optimise operational performance to help meet the Trusts objectives regards the following:
- National Ambulance Response Standards
- Call Handling Performance Standards
- Operational Deployment and Delivery
- Safe and high quality Patient Care
