Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Volunteering and Community Services Department on a Bank basis within South Western Ambulance Service as an Community Engagement and training Officer in the North and East Devon area.

We are looking for an individual to join our team who has excellent communication skills and able to establish and deliver community based resuscitation training to support our Community Public Access Defibrillator and Community First Responder initiatives across the trust.

Main duties of the job

The primary role of the Assistant Community Responder Officer is to support the day to day management of Community Public Access Defibrillators (CPADs) and Static Site Defibrillators. Delivering annual Basic Life Support & Defibrillator awareness training within the community and local businesses, as part of the trusts supportive defibrillator package that is on offer.

Alongside this the role also supports the Volunteering and Community Services Officer with the training and development of Community First Responders and additional volunteering projects across the area.

  • RSA 2 or equivalent or be prepared to work towards.
