Job summary

Work as part of the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) at specialist, complex or protracted incidents to deliver the highest standards of pre-hospital clinical care to all patients actually or potentially affected by any major civil emergency or a potentially hazardous situation as set out in the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU) National Standard.

Ensure the highest level of patient care is delivered in accordance with the procedures issued by the Trust and NARU in order to maintain personal safety and that of colleagues and casualties. Be part of a team delivering enhanced clinical skills including advanced airway, analgesia and lifesaving surgical techniques.

Main duties of the job

Carry out the full range of HART paramedic duties as part of a team, on the specialist HART fleet or in other appropriate Trust or partner agency vehicles (including watercraft and aircraft).

Carry out paramedic duties commensurate with NECU, JRCALC & Trust specific PGDs and guidelines. Responsible as an autonomous practitioner using local care pathways associated with the Trust's Clinical Strategies programme promoting see and treat, reducing conveyance and subsequent Emergency Department admission.
