Clinical Lead (Resuscitation Development Project)

Job summary

This role is sponsored by NHS England and is a key post within the SWAST 'Saving Lives Together' Cardiac Arrest project.The Trust's ZOLL X-Series Vital Signs Monitoring and Defibrillation (VSM-D) devices are equipped with an ability to collate data which can be used to provide an indication of the resuscitation quality provided to a patient in cardiac arrest. This data is collectively referred to as 'Case Review' data.The Clinical Lead (Resuscitation Development Project) is a key member of the Trust's Clinical Team and is responsible for the expansion of the cardiac arrest Resuscitation Development Project across the Trust, enabling frontline colleagues to receive timely feedback and providing an opportunity to learn more about the quality of resuscitation delivered to patients in cardiac arrest.The project will progress to the development of a sustainable cardiac arrest feedback loop process, in collaboration with SWAST stakeholders, including, Learning and Development (L&D), Research and Audit and Operations.Please note the role is indicative Band which is subject to job evaluation review.

Main duties of the job

Fundamental aspects of the role will include working within the project team, promoting Case Review & the Resuscitation Development Project (RDP) to SWAST crews, identifying barriers to the roll out of Case Review, facilitating clinical governance opportunities, arranging and facilitating staff engagement opportunities and promoting the wider Saving Lives Together campaign.

Educations and Qualifications

Essential

  • HCPC registered Paramedic or equivalent registered clinician (e.g. NMC registered nurse)
  • Foundation degree in relevant subject
  • Full UK Driving licence including C1 and nationally recognised Blue Light Driving Qualification
  • Leadership qualification or experience

Desirable

  • Training in Quality Improvement
  • RCUK ALS qualification
  • Patient Safety training or experience

Experience

  • continuous experience as a practicing clinician within the pre-hospital setting (applicants must have successfully completed the NQP period for paramedics)
  • Demonstrable record of achievement in clinical practice development
