Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, adaptable and well-motivated Medical Secretary Supervisor to join the Penwith Adult Community Mental Health Team providing secretarial support to Consultant Psychiatrists and their teams as well as supervising the medical secretarial teams at Penwith and Kerrier. The post holder should demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work and be able to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, patients, carers, the general public and representatives from other hospitals and organisations.

Main duties of the job
To maintain confidentiality at all times and sensitivity when dealing with contentious and complex information.
Co-ordinate and organise action arising from correspondence and ensure prompt and efficient response, as required, by the Consultants and Junior Medical Support Staff.
Co-ordination with other professionals, outside Agencies, legal staff, Trust staff etc.
Responsible for up-to-date maintenance of diaries for the medical team.
Maintain clinic lists to ensure clients are seen within key target times.
Attend meetings, as necessary, take and transcribe minutes, follow actions notes and disseminate information as required.
You will be providing supervision and day to day support to the other medical secretaries that support the Community Mental Health Teams at Penwith and Kerrier.
This role will be challenging and varied, but ultimately a rewarding role that will provide an opportunity, for the right person, to become a key member of the team. A high degree of flexibility is required to meet the day-to-day challenges of the service. Excellent time management and communication skills are required as is a good sense of humour.
This would be a working on site position with possibility to work from home on occasion. There will be occasions to travel to carry out supervisions at our Kerrier site in Redruth.
