Cornwall Foundation NHS Trust is looking to recruit a Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) to join our expanding pharmacy team.

This is a varied role with the successful applicant needing to work independently and within the wider pharmacy team. As a Senior Assistant Technical Officer, you will be required to work alongside our current SATO's to provide PA support to the chief pharmacist and admin support to the wider pharmacy team responsible for the co-ordination of stock management and discharge facilitation to the Emergency and Urgent Care units including CATUs, deal with telephone and email enquires coming into the department as appropriate, work closely with our Medication Safety Officer to analyse daily reports and escalate any issues appropriately, provide support for the completion of storage audits, and support with clozapine services.

Main duties of the job

Senior Assistant Technical Officer based at Bodmin Community Hospital or Camborne Redruth Community Hospital with support to other peripheral hospitals.

Responsible for the co-ordination of stock management and discharge facilitation to the Emergency and Urgent Care units including CATUs.

Performing audits for the safe storage of medication across CFT and for the provision of FP10 prescription pads to the county depending upon working base.

To provide cover for the SATO responsible for Clozapine medication when needed and providing cover for leave.

To provide admin support to the pharmacy team including 7 day service provision on a rolling rota and when required.

Essential

  • Full NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services (requires competence to be demonstrated in 3 mandatory units and a minimum of 4 optional units)
  • Good general education including GCSE Grade C or 4 in Maths and English
  • Must have significant experience in hospital or community pharmacy.

Desirable

  • Experience gained from on-the-job training to NVQ3 Level
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy and hospital pharmacy computer systems

Skills and Aptitude

  • Computer skills and experience in working with common computer programmes.
