Job summary
We are looking to recruit a dynamic Ward Manager to lead our Bodmin Community Assessment Treatment Unit (CATU) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) based at Bodmin Community Hospital.
The CATU model is an innovative and dynamic patient pathway of which a key aspect is the assessment of the acute patient and treatment of symptoms aiming to return the patient to their home with the right support.
SDEC is the provision of same day care for emergency patients who would otherwise be admitted to an acute hospital.
Management of good patient flow aiming for a length of stay of 3 dayso Support MDT to take on relevant skills and initiatives within the CATUo Work with the other senior members of the MDT for continual improvements in CATU and patient flowo Work with the operational Lead - Admission Avoidance to develop SDEC working with virtual ward

Main duties of the job
- To provide managerial and clinical leadership to the nursing team and support staff.
- To manage the daily running of the ward ensuring effective staff rostering and skill mix
- To lead and develop the nursing team
- To ensure the delivery of high-quality evidence-based patient care within the guidelines of Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures.
- To promote effective communication with all members of the multi-disciplinary and inter-agency team including medical staff, patients and carers
- To ensure effective management of ward resources including ward budget.
- To support and deputise for the Modern Matron.
- To work flexibly with peers and managers in the Locality, prioritising resources as required.
