The Professional Lead for Physiotherapy provides leadership and governance for Physiotherapists in Cornwall across Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust and Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The post works closely with professional leads for other AHP services as well as the 3rd sector, voluntary services, Higher Education Institutes, and many others.

You will be responsible for the strategic oversight from local, regional, and national perspectives on health, education, workforce development and service delivery, advising Associate Director of AHPs, Integrated Therapy Lead, Therapy Managers, Area Directors, Triumvirate Managers and others.

This job share post is across acute and community services, and supports a population of around 500,00 which can double in the holiday periods. Our system is supporting more of its population to access services close to home, responding in a preventative approach and embedding digital solutions.

Main duties of the job

To provide professional leadership and governance across organisations for Cornwall Partnership NHSFoundation Trust(CFT)and RoyalCornwallHospitalsTrust (RCHT)and to work closely with other stakeholders within Cornwall to include but not exclusively the 3rdSector, voluntaryservicesand other areas outside of healthcare.

To provide professionalstrategicover sightfrom local and national perspectives on health, education and social care development and service delivery, advising theAssociate DirectorAHP's,IntegratedtherapyLead, Therapy managers, Area Directors, Triumvirate Managersand other operational managers acrossorganisations.

Todevelop and deliver, safe and effective servicesin accordance withnational targets, national and local standards, serviceprioritiesand performance indicators, ensuringthatthe provision ofevidence basedtherapy provision for patientsand their families/carersis considered along withclinical guidance from within their professional body.

To work collegiately with operational managers to ensure the current workforce is appropriately trained and have theappropriate skillmix. Contribute to the development of future workforce planning in conjunction with HR and operational managers andtaking into accountcost impact of strategic workforce planning of professional groups

Education/Qualifications and Relevant Experience

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Health Care Professions Council registration
  • Evidence of accredited/ theoretical training at Masters level or a willingness to undertake Masters Level modules relevant to Clinical Specialty
  • Evidence of relevant leadership training and or qualification

Knowledge and Abilities

Essential

  • Significant post-graduate experience, including evidence of work at leadership or clinical specialist level and evidence of a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of their registered profession
  • Experience in complaints management

Desirable

  • Experience of user Involvement

Skills and Aptitude

Essential

  • Experience of working within a range of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams, including evidence of collaboration with other organisations
  • Experience of change management, policy development, organisational change, service development, linking to HEI's
