We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, conscientious, self-motivated, and experienced Pharmacy Technician. This post will be a managing a dynamic and rapidly developing technical pharmacy workforce supporting from training posts throughout career development including ward based work as part of a wider reaching pharmacy team.

We have multiple sites across Cornwall allowing for a huge scope of unique opportunities to develop your pharmacy career and gain some amazing experiences. This post will be supporting across both acute community services and mental health services in Cornwall with a chosen base site according to the preference of the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

Under the direction of the pharmacy senior management team for Community Services and Mental Health Hospitals, the post holder will support and lead in the management, training, and development of medicines optimisation technicians in delivering ward-based services.

The post holder will also participate in core ward-based activities including medication reconciliation, medication counselling and supply of medications at ward level to expedite patient discharge.

The post holder will be working with a team of pharmacists, medical and nursing staff to deliver ward-based pharmacy technical services to all wards. Under the direction of a pharmacist, they will be responsible for leading and expanding ward-based pharmacy technical services including ward-based dispensing. This includes providing systems for training technicians and assistants to deliver this service.

  • To be responsible for day-to-day provision of pharmacy technician services to the wards.
  • Under the direction of a pharmacist to lead in the development of ward-based pharmacy technical services and ward-based dispensing.
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day management of medicines optimisation technicians and assistants
