The role will support the Wheelchair Therapy Team in effectively managing the administration duties with processing, monitoring, updating referrals and co-ordinating complex appointments. This will include liaising with clients, outside providers, manufacturers, schools, other health professionals and care agencies as well as managing enquiries and escalating when necessary.

You should be able to work well under pressure, manage varying workloads with conflicting priorities, be adaptable to change, motivated with a commitment to provide excellent customer service. You should be able to work with minimum supervision and have a sensitive approach to dealing with occasional difficult situations.

The successful candidate must have a flexible approach, possess excellent communication skills, must be reliable, well organised, and be able to work as part of a team or independently.

Main duties of the job

Monitor, update and manage the Wheelchair Service waiting list and PWB Pathway.

Keep clinic schedules up to date so that team are aware of clinical commitments.

Provide and check accuracy of all data input onto system to ensure wheelchair service contract activity, referral status and appointment outcomes is correctly returned.

Efficiently book assessment visits both at clinic, school and at home to deliver against contractual targets.

Liaise with external equipment providers, manufacturers, schools, and other health professionals when appropriate.

Organise diaries and meetings as required.

Process receipt of referrals and generic service email messages in a timely manner.
