An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, adaptable and well-motivated Medical Secretary or Team Secretary to join the Adult Community Mental Health Teams providing secretarial support to Consultant Psychiatrists and their teams. The post holder should demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work.

This role is a full-time position, working Monday - Friday, with 2 posts available in each area (West, Mid & North & East of the county).

Main duties of the job

  • To maintain confidentiality at all times and sensitivity when dealing with contentious and complex information.
  • Co-ordinate and organise action arising from correspondence and ensure prompt and efficient response, as required, by the Consultants and Junior Medical Support Staff.
  • Co-ordination with other professionals, outside Agencies, legal staff, Trust staff etc.
  • Responsible for up-to-date maintenance of diaries for the medical team.
  • Maintain clinic lists to ensure clients are seen within key target times.
  • Attend meetings, as necessary, take and transcribe minutes, follow actions notes and disseminate information as required.
