Job summary
The post holder is within the CFT and RCHT safeguarding team and will ensure CFT and RCHT staff are supported to fulfil their safeguarding responses.
The post holder will assist the Head of Safeguarding to ensure that specialist advice and support is available to all staff across Cornwall NHS Foundation Trust (CFT) and Royal Cornwall Hospital Trusts (RCHT) in matters relating to Safeguarding Adults.
The post holder is responsible for providing safeguarding supervision to all staff engaging in safeguarding activity.
The post holder will be responsible for monitoring and developing effective professional practice in Safeguarding Adults through advice, support and supervision of CFT and RCHT staff.
The post holder will work closely with CFT and RCHT staff across all disciplines and services on all aspects of Safeguarding Adults and will be expected to display high personal levels of competence, judgment, integrity and personal accountability.

Main duties of the job
o Facilitating and delivering safeguarding adult training to include Prevent from level 1 to level 3 to all staff in CFT and RCHT including Trust Board and Trust Governorso Supporting staff with safeguarding concerns and give advice face to face and by telephone and email .o Supporting staff with legal statements and possible court attendance as required.o Fully engaging in multi-agency working to represent health views and the adult or child viewso Being an expert in supporting the identification of risk to adults at risk, responding to risk, taking steps to mitigate risk and to escalate risk as appropriateo Supporting the Adult Safeguarding Triage process with the local authority and rotate into the role on a regular basis / providing cover for sickness and annual leaveo Support the process to protect adults who are subject to Section 42 enquiries whilst enabling CFT staff to develop these skills through role modelling / support and supervisiono Provide oversight and scrutiny to section 42 Caused Enquiry Reports which are returned to Cornwall Council
