The countywide Adult Eating Disorder team are looking for a committed Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist, able to provide complex psychological care planning, complex assessment, consultation, and clinical supervision.

Our teams 8a Clinical Psychologists are integral to our service in delivering on highly complex integrative psychological care planning, consultation, supervision, service development, and the development of psychology and psychological professionals.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary Adult Eating Disorders team, who are focused on ensuring our clients get the right help at the right time.

Your expertise is essential in the new clinical model whereby we are striving to deliver on our objectives of trauma informed care, shared decision making, needs led, and evidence-based interventions.

You will be supporting the ED team through a period of innovation to align with the ICA areas across Cornwall in line with Transformation.

You will be delivering complex integrated psychological interventions to our clients with Anorexia Nervosa, as well as consultation for other care professionals both inside and outside of the team.

You will also be offering Clinical Supervision and developing learners in practice.

Education

Essential

  • Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical, counselling or forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and required by the HCPC.

Desirable

  • ACAT accredited CAT/CBT therapist / supervisor
  • Training, qualification and experience in relevant psychometrics (e.g. WAIS, ADOS, PDS, PAI)

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial relevant clinical experience post qualification, working with a variety of client groups including trauma and personality, and experience of delivering supervision to a range of staff
  • Experience in carrying out complex assessment and integrative formulation, and presenting this appropriately
  • Experience of application of research design and methodology in mental health care settings.

Desirable

  • Experience of service development, clinical pathway design, and clinical leadership.
  • Experienced applying the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies with eating disorders and trauma, ideally including Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and/or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
