Main duties of the job

In this role, you will collaborate with fellow Consultant colleagues to provide comprehensive mental health services across the central area, serving a district population of approximately 118,000. This area is covered by two Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) with two consultant psychiatrists.

You will provide coverage for surgeries located in West Cornwall area, with outpatient clinics held in both locations.

As a Consultant, you will offer clinical leadership within the team, focusing on the patients you personally engage with. Care coordination is not part of your responsibilities.

This role will include supporting resident Doctors. These trainees will primarily be involved in community-based activities but will also have on-call duties for inpatient services. You will serve as the Clinical Supervisor for the resident doctor, with dedicated time allocated each week for supervision.

  • Experience of managing a caseload of community patients with a range of mental health problems

Desirable
