Job summary
The post holder will be part of the professional and operational management for the Podiatry Service with a countywide remit. As part of this role, they will be responsible for appropriate use of resources as well as be responsible for Quality and Governance, including Health & Safety and patient safety.Responsibilities within the role include leading and managing the operational services of the Podiatry team under the guidance of the Podiatry Service Management Team, considering local health needs and the policy priority of developing services closer to home. Being responsible for the delivery and maintenance of high quality evidence based care, focussed on meeting the needs and choices of patients, carers and families and to foster positive relationships with local commissioning boards and community and voluntary organisations.The post holder will be able to create an effective, integrated multi-disciplinary approach within the locality teams, ensuring best practice guidelines and performance standards are met while meeting service targets. They will be an autonomous practitioner responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients with highly complex health and social care needs.
Main duties of the job
o Supporting Podiatry Service Manager and Professional Leado Work closely with the incumbent Podiatry Team Lead, coordinating duties as the need arises.o Work closely with the Podiatry Team Business Support Supervisor to allocate resources based on identified need through reports generated.o Interpret and manage team data recording eg RIO for team resource management.o Deputise in Service Manager absence for the authorisation and monitoring of effective ordering of stores, eg Integra/ Onpos.o Undertake supervisions and appraisals for clinical staff.o Undertake facilitation of countywide staff training days.o Undertake triage of new patient referrals.o Manage day to day and long-term absences.o Undertake return to work interviews following staff sickness absenceo Lead and participate in team meetings to discuss patient care developments and to disseminate information.o Ensure clinical supervision, appraisal and mandatory training is an integral part of professional practice within the teams.o Participate in recruitment and retention within the Team.o Manage capacity and demand under the guidance of the Podiatry management Team
