Job summary
The purpose of the post is: To provide a complete level of ancillary service to the Clinical Unit/Ward Manager. This is a key post, vital to maintaining the Organisation's hygiene and control of infections
This is a part time post covering a 7 day roster to include evenings and weekend working.
Main duties of the job
o Responsibility for cleanliness of establishment in line with Standards of Quality Control.o Responsible for receipting goods and checking for/reporting errors.o Control use of stocks in absence of G.S.A Supervisor, marking as necessary.o Accountability for all keys/equipment issued or used in the course of duty.o Responsibility for reporting breakdowns, security and adhering to PCH policies and procedures.o To undertake all General Services Assistant duties and maintain a professional and hygienic appearance.o Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and COSHH.o Ability to follow instructions and use equipment provided following training.o To be helpful, courteous and kind to colleagues, staff, patients and the general public alike.o To be aware of patients' dignity and privacy needs at all times and act appropriately.o Awareness of hospital/ward/unit procedures.o To undertake duties within kitchen areas as requested and trained to do so.o Portering duties as and when required
