Job summary
An exciting ward manager post has become available on the Sowenna Unit within Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Whether you are an experienced manager looking for a new challenge or interested in a development opportunity and chance to gain new skills/ experience in a different area. You will be supported by the senior management team to manage a specialist service which includes the regional commissioning structure, overseeing CAMHS care pathways and working alongside/supervising a team of multi-disciplinary professionals and clinicians.
Sowenna sits with in our enhanced care offer under the children's operational umbrella Working closely with our community services and our Multi agency Rapid response service.
Sowenna is part of the South West Provider Collaborative (SWPC) and has a close working relationship with Pediatrics and community and children's service, we are currently working to develop integrated care areas across our service that will improve integrated working for the families we serve, within this role you will be key to these developments.
Sowenna ward is a twelve bedded inpatient Unit at Bodmin hospital, Cornwall. The hospital site also hosts other mental and physical health wards.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with the inpatient and children's management team but also SWPC lead provider and other partner Trusts within region to share best practice, network and work collaboratively.
We strive to provide a creative and holistic service for children who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems. These children require time and intensive support to aid their recovery. We aim to work in a trauma informed way and in an integrated way across our systems to enable a family to have the best opportunity for recovery in to the community.
The ward is currently undergoing a refurbishment programme to update the extra care area to high standard in line with service specification that will support he unit to keep Young people closer to home in the need for specialist care.
Sowenna has a number of other exciting service development and quality improvement programmes underway, and the post holder would support to drive these forward and continue to develop the service.
Sowenna manager will also have the support of a business support manager to assist with additional commissioning requirements attached to a tertiary service.
