Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, creative and experienced Therapist to join the Inpatient Therapy team on the Community Assessment and Treatment Unit (CATU) in North Kerrier based at Camborne/Redruth Hospital.
This position is open to an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who has experience of working in inpatient rehabilitation and wishes to develop their rehabilitation skills whilst being part of a supportive, experienced, multi-disciplinary team.
The post is to support a 7 day service of therapy on the CATU, so one of the working days must be either a Saturday or Sunday. We anticipate the working pattern to be either Thurs/Fri/Sat or Sun/Mon/Tues, however the weekdays can be flexible as long as one day is either a Sat or Sun.
The successful candidate must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle
You will be responsible for assessment, planning and implementation of care and assist in the interpretation of information relevant to the patient's condition/progress, identify problems and needs of patient and set realistic goals.
You will need to have excellent organisational skills combined with a wide knowledge base and experience of working in older person's services.
We will offer a supportive working environment in which to develop your clinical and interpersonal skills, a structured in-service training programme, appraisal and supervision system. CPD is actively supported through regular supervision and staff training.
Main duties of the job
- Provide a high standard AHP service, performing advanced assessments of patients including those with highly complex presentations, and from this formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan within the guidelines of the standard operating procedure
- Assess, plan and prescribe interventions as an autonomous practitioner using independence of judgement.
- To provide leadership for support staff and junior staff through supervision, training and appraisal
- Participate in the planning and development of therapy services
- 7 day working is a key element of this post
