Job summary

Exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our Integrated Community Mental Health Team based in Truro.

Carrick ICMHT strives to deliver high quality and effective services to people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems. We offer assessment and treatment of mental health problems, with a focus on effectiveness and recovery, working to promote the independence of our service users.

We are looking for people who have a core profession in mental health nursing, social work or occupational therapy to join our team.

We want people who have experience or are looking for experience in working independently in a mental health setting. You must have a positive outlook and sense of humour to accept the challenges of working in a busy locality that extends to seaside towns and rural locations.

You will need to have knowledge of the CPA process, legislation around mental health and The Mental Health Act. You will need excellent communication skills and place value on team and inter-agency working.

We need a person who can demonstrate passion and commitment to mental health issues have an approach to excellent client centred care along with working flexibly as part of a team, to deliver innovative health and social care.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and clinical management of a defined caseload within the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CFT) Mental Health Service.
  • To take responsibility for some specific areas of service development as discussed and agreed with the Team.
  • To be involved in team development, performance management and clinical audit.
  • To act as a mentor for student university Having the mentoring qualification or being willing to work towards this qualification and attending mentorship updates as required
