Job summary
We're looking for an experienced Learning Disabilities Nurse to join our countywide team. This post may be suitable for experienced nurse with transferable skills and/or relevant life experience.
You'll be working as part of a community-based Multi Disciplinary CAMHS Learning Disability Team, being responsible for the assessment and treatment, including co-ordinating the care of young people who are referred to the CAMHS Learning Disability service. You'll be working in line with agreed Care Processes and Pathways and you'll have an active role with young people and their families/carers. Your role will include providing person-centred, skilled and effective specialist assessment, intervention, monitoring and review. You will be responsible for the maintenance of high levels of evidence-based learning disability practice with an opportunity to learn new skills. you'll be working within an innovative, highly skilled multi-disciplinary team with a robust supervision and appraisal culture. There are plenty of CPD opportunities and research/ audit opportunities. There are good levels of service user engagement and opportunity for joint working with other teams.

Main duties of the job
As a CAMHS/LD Nurse you will be responsible for completing holistic nursing assessments, contributing to multi-disciplinary formulation and evidence based interventions for children with moderate to severe learning disability.
You will be required to work autonomously and respond to the needs of an individual caseload; from initial assessment to discharge.
You are expected to be flexible and responsive to the needs of the service; providing specialist skills and knowledge to the four quadrants of the IThrive model.
You will be liaising and providing advice, information and consultation to colleagues and other agencies as well as undertaking service governance activity, including research and audit as appropriate.
The role will include actively participating in role modelling interventions and implementing Positive Behaviour Support planning approaches.
You will be expected to participate in clinical governance and service development within the CAMHS/LD Team, in partnership with professional specialists and other clinical teams.
