Job summary

St Austell Hospital Minor Injuries Unit has a rare opportunity to work in a practitioner-led Minor Injuries Unit as the Band 7 Unit Team Leader, providing managerial and leadership to the clinical team. This post also includes the management of the Outpatient Department.

You need to have a passion for minor injury care, good communication skills, and a commitment to providing excellent care as part of the MIU and OPD team. You must be responsive to change and be flexible in your approach. A sound knowledge of professional issues will be required.

We are looking to recruit an established Band 6 practitioner with substantial experience at a Senior Nurse level (Band 6) working in an MIU/emergency department/urgent care setting along with previous management and leadership experience.

Main duties of the job

To provide managerial and leadership to the clinical team and support staff. To manage the daily running of the units (MIU/OPD) ensuring effective staff rostering and skill mix. To lead and develop the clinical team. To ensure the delivery of high-quality evidence-based patient care within the guidelines of Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures.
