Job summary

As a Named CAMHS Nurse in the community you will be responsible for providing full assessments, formulation and evidence based interventions to children, young people and their families, who are experiencing mental health difficulties. In order to achieve such ambitious goals we recognise the importance of supporting all our staff in building and feeling a part of a healthy, well-functioning multidisciplinary team and service.

This post will be based at Shaw House which is within St Austell Community Hospital grounds. We are advertising this post as full time or part time which can be discussed at interview.

It is our intention to embed reflective practice, continual learning and clinical supervision into the essence of the service. We hope to offer a bespoke and rolling training package to all staff and would like to invest in our team member's sense of mastery. We are especially interested in utilising new employee's specialist expertise and interests.CFT continues to develop a range of services including a CAMHS inpatient unit Sowenna, an eating disorder service, intensive support services and early intervention school based teams. There has also been major investment in developing care pathways for CAMHS, extra investment in psychologist posts and the roll-out of the I-thrive model across multiple agencies.

Main duties of the job

As a CAMHS Nurse you will be responsible for providing full assessments, formulation andevidence based interventions to children, young people and their families, who are experiencing mentalhealth difficulties.You will be responsible for maintaining an individual caseload, from referral to discharge, conductingroutine and high priority assessments and interventions as appropriate and exercising autonomy.You will be liaising and providing advice, information and consultation to colleagues and other agencies aswell as undertaking service governance activity, including research and audit as appropriate.

The role includes participating in the on call rota which includes some weekends and bank holidays

Successful candidates will provide regular and ongoing consultation, joint work, training and advice to other professionals in relation to child and adolescent mental health to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

This post will require someone to have a full drivers licence and daily access to a car.
