An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Children's Community and Musculoskeletal Outpatient (MSK OP) Physiotherapy Team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Paediatric Physiotherapy Technical Instructor.
Due to a successful redesign of the service, the post will be integral in the design and development of this small team and delivery of quality services to Children and Young People in the community
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work closely with the Community and MSK OP Physiotherapy teams to deliver high quality of care to a children with a wide range of conditions including: Orthopaedic, Neurological, Neurodevelopmental, Learning Disabilities and Complex health needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider Children's Therapy and Multi-Disciplinary Team.

To support the Community and MSK OP Paediatric Physiotherapy Team in the day to day running of the service in St Georges Hospital and to work as part of a team to provide a high standard of service delivery.
To provide high quality and comprehensive clinical administrative support to the Community and MSK OP Paediatric Physiotherapy Team, ensuring the smooth running of systems that support the clinical service.
- To assist in assessment and the delivery of physiotherapy treatment sessions in a variety of settings. This will include traveling to homes, schools, nurseries and other clinic settings in Wandsworth.
- To contribute to clinical governance/audit projects within local service as requested.
- Have responsibility for the safe use of equipment and toys with awareness of risk to self, children and carers.
- To prepare equipment and produce resources as requested by the Physiotherapist, to agreed departmental standards and sensitive to all issues of diversity.
- Accountable for own actions when working independently and recognises own boundaries seeking advice as appropriate.
- To act as a resource and support for other Band 4 and Band 3 Assistants and to work with the Physiotherapy Lead to update procedures as necessary.
- To support Physiotherapists in carrying out parent training and where appropriate, staff training.
- To order specialist equipment on behalf of the Physiotherapist to support the complex postural needs of children in schools and homes.
