Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 2 Therapy technician to join the acute neuro-rehabilitation therapy service at St George's Hospital, Tooting. This is a permanent Therapies Technician Post based at a 10 bedded level 1 rehabilitation unit (Thomas Young Ward). The post holder provides occupational therapy and physiotherapy technician sessions to patients with neurological injuries.
The posts will involve working alongside qualified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to provide direct patient intervention (both one to one and group sessions), assisting with administrative tasks, maintenance of equipment loans systems, information gathering and promotion of best quality patient care.
Applicants need to be flexible, reliable, demonstrate confidence in dealing with the public and possess excellent communication skills. They will need to be able to complete tasks delegated to them as well as have the ability to use their initiative. Good team-work skills are essential as well as basic IT skills. Applicants will need to be able to work rostered weekends as part of the seven-day working service at St George's hospital.
