Job summary

With a better than national average survival to discharge figure, St Georges Hospitalsuccessfully delivers the highest standards of training in resuscitation andrecognition of deteriorating patients.The post holder will participate in the delivery of all the training programmes frombasic to advanced life support across all specialties.We would prefer an existing band 6 Resuscitation Practitioner who is already an ILS/ ALS instructor, but we will also consider other HCPCs with significant experience atband 6 level with a critical care or emergency medicine background. Thesecandidates must hold a valid ILS / ALS certificate (preferably with an instructorpotential nomination) and have teaching experience, excellent practical problem solving skills and a flexible approach to meeting goals.In addition, your role will also involve audit and governance activities and clinicalparticipation in the cardiac arrest team.You should be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and flexible and have a keen interestwithin this field. You must be able to work as part of a small dynamic and innovativeteam.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for the planning, organisation, delivery and audit of all aspects ofmultidisciplinary resuscitation training with a focus on training- Participate in allresuscitation related audits including equipment audit, DNACPR.Be a clinical member of the resuscitation teams for adult, paediatric andneonatal/maternal arrest calls providing expertise to all the cardiac arrest teams, ensuring the best current evidence-based care and outcome.Be an active member of the Trust Resuscitation Committee providing professionaladvice on resuscitation training, techniques and equipmentLine Manage Junior staff and take an active role in their development
