Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Children's Community Team, supporting the delivery of high-quality therapy for children with a wide range of developmental and physical needs. As an Multi-Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of qualified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to provide treatment for children.
The post-holder will also assist in setting up and running specialist clinics and training sessions. Strong communication skills are vital, as you will work closely with children, their families, and professionals across a multi-agency network to support coordinated, holistic care.
Main duties of the job
- To provide hands on treatment to children who have previously been assessed by the Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist and inform the therapist of the child's progress and response to the intervention.
- To manage own caseload of allocated children referred with a variety of presentations with supervision of a qualified therapist.
- To work under your own initiative to provide effective comprehensive administrative and clinical support to the therapy team at Queen Mary's Hospital.
- To alert the therapist of any adverse / unexpected responses to the intervention
- To accurately document any intervention with a child, their family and involved professionals on the electronic patient system, in line with local guidelines
- To input data and update information on the electronic patient local databases
- To assist with setting up and running specialist clinics or training sessions
- To communicate effectively with children, families and the multiagency team

The Children's Therapy team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Therapists work in multi-disciplinary/multi agency teams across the borough of Wandsworth.
