- How would you like to come and work in a dynamic and forward thinking Endoscopy & Minor Ops Unit at the Nelson Health Centre, as part of St George's NHS Trust?
- You will work with the friendly multidisciplinary team in providing patient centred care for patients undergoing gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, transnasal endoscopy, cystoscopy, dermatology and plastic surgery day case procedures.
- As a Unit which has received 'Platinum' in Trust accreditation, we pride ourselves on putting our patients first and provide a supportive environment for staff training.
- You will be based at The Nelson Health Centre, but you can have the opportunity to work at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton and St George's Hospital in Tooting.
- The primary aim of the Endoscopy & Minor Ops Unit is to provide an effective, comprehensive, high quality endoscopy and minor operations service for those patients assessed as suitable for day case treatment in a community setting.
- The Unit was designed around the patient's experience, providing a relaxed and calming environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Main duties of the job
- Providing excellent nursing care.
- Taking charge, supervising and deputising for the Senior Sister to ensure the provision of excellent nursing care across the team, the effective management of staff and mentoring of junior staff.
- Actively participating in and contributing to the overall management of the department.
- Maintaining all necessary equipment, liaise with loan companies and procurement team to ensure equipment is available as required.
- Participate in the decontamination, traceability and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialised equipment used in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures and providing technical assistance during such procedures.

Essential
- RN (general)
- Minimum of 3 years post registration experience
- Endoscopy experience
- NURB 280/360 or ENB906 or equivalent
- ENB998 or equivalent teaching qualification
- Awareness of professional responsibilities
- Knowledge of current nursing issues
Desirable
- Advanced studies leading to BSc or evidence of further professional development
- Experience of dermatology/plastic surgery minor ops
- Experience of Cystoscopy procedures
Organisational Management

- Ability to prioritise work and to co-ordinate the department
