Specialist Therapy Technician

The closing date is 16 December 2025

Job summary

Become part of our STAR (Specialist Therapy, Assessment and Rehabilitation) team and help patients regain independence through acute rehabilitation. You'll support qualified therapists by delivering prescribed exercise programmes, educating patients on walking aids and equipment, and managing a caseload of non-complex patients. This hands-on role is ideal for someone passionate about patient care, with strong communication skills and a team-focused approach. You'll work both independently and alongside senior staff, contributing to joint therapy sessions and 7-day service delivery. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a friendly, dynamic, and forward-thinking MDT.

Main duties of the job

As a Specialist Therapy Technician within the STAR team, you'll play a key role in supporting patient recovery and independence. Using knowledge and skills gained through attainment of competencies and experience you'll assess and treat your own delegated caseload of non-complex patients, delivering prescribed individual exercise programmes and documenting progress in the patient's medical records. With excellent interpersonal skills, you'll guide patients in the safe use of walking aids and ADL equipment, helping them build confidence and mobility.

You'll also support senior physiotherapists and occupational therapists in joint therapy sessions, contributing to safe and effective rehabilitation plans. Administrative duties include coordinating the delivery of equipment and maintaining accurate records. This is a hands-on, patient-facing role that requires compassion and a team-focused mindset.

The post holder will contribute to the Trust's 7-day working model, ensuring continuity of care across weekends. We are committed to supporting your development and helping you thrive in your role. Whether you're looking to begin your career in healthcare or build on existing experience, this position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. If you're enthusiastic, compassionate, and ready to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
