Clinical Lead Assistive Technology - OT or Clinical Scientist

Job summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Clinical Lead (Occupational Therapist or Clinical Scientist) to join our Assistive Technology Service based at Queen Marys Hospital, Roehampton.

The successful applicant will join the team providing assessment, installation and maintenance of environmental controls throughout the commissioned area (South West London, Surrey and West Sussex).

A driver with full license and access to a car for work purposes is therefore essential.

The role encompasses MDT leadership, management, education, research, and a commitment to patient-centered service development.

Main duties of the job

Ensure clinical standards are maintained within the service.

Work autonomously to assess a complex caseload and develop specialised individual provisions .

Support and guide staff in clinical decision-making, particularly for clients with complex or challenging needs.

Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of assistive technology, physical disability and management.

Promote the service through liaison with referrers and visits to other services.

Collaborate with service leads and users to evaluate, develop, and improve service delivery continuously.

Lead service modernisation initiatives in partnership with the Head of Therapies, service users, other services and commissioners.

Provide leadership to the MDT team, supporting high-quality, patient-centred multidisciplinary care.

Review and participate in educational programmes for clinicians, ensuring they reflect current evidence-based practice.

Manage budget and rostering responsibilities effectively.

Manage team performance and any issues that arise
