Paediatric Highly Specialist Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist working with infants and young children with complex needs and dysphagia.-Full Time
Come and work at Greenmead Special School and with infants and young children in the community with swallowing and feeding concerns (neonates, pre-schoolers and primary school age).
Greenmead is an outstanding Special school for children with complex physical and learning difficulties aged 2-11. A multi-disciplinary team is fully integrated into the school with a strong collaborative in-class working model of provision.
The Community Paediatric Dysphagia Service (CPDS) supports Neonates, infants and children within the community with swallowing and feeding difficulties, both within clinic settings and through home visits across the Wandsworth borough.
Many of the pupils at Greenmead often have early contact with the feeding service and this post is designed to support families on this journey as they transition from community through to Special School. In addition, the CPDS element of the post will work closely with the acute paediatric dysphagia team based at St Georges hospital.
The post will allow successful applicants to further develop their clinical reasoning and treatment skills with this diverse population, with additional opportunity for service development as required.
Main duties of the job
3 days a week will be spent working with multi disciplinary team at Greenmead Special School with the other two weeks spent working in the community paediatric dysphagia service.
